# The best family hotels in Berlin

Written 2026-11-03 by Play Day. Berlin hotels for families, from apartments by the natural history museum in Mitte to family suites by the Kurfürstendamm and a music hotel on the Spree.

Berlin has playgrounds tucked into its parks, from a big wooden [pirate ship](https://ourplayday.com/places/piratenschiff-spielplatz-berlin) near Charlottenburg Palace to a [dragon](https://ourplayday.com/places/drachenspielplatz-berlin) in Friedrichshain and a sandy one under a giant [rainbow](https://ourplayday.com/places/regenbogenspielplatz-mauerpark-berlin) in the Mauerpark. The [technology museum](https://ourplayday.com/places/deutsches-technikmuseum-berlin) has whole halls of old locomotives, and the [Labyrinth Kindermuseum](https://ourplayday.com/places/labyrinth-kindermuseum-berlin-berlin) is a hands-on museum made for kids from 2. A lot of the family stays here are really apartments, with a kitchen, a second bedroom and even kids' bikes to rent.

## Mitte

Mitte is where Berlin started. Museum Island, the Brandenburg Gate and the TV Tower on Alexanderplatz are all here, and every museum on the island runs tours and workshops made for kids. These hotels are up in the north of Mitte, around Invalidenstraße and Rosenthaler Platz, right on the edge of Prenzlauer Berg. You can walk to a lot from here, and the U-Bahn and trams cover the rest.
