Where to stay in Budapest with kids
Written October 2026
Budapest is the Danube, with the castle up on the Buda side, the Parliament on the Pest side and the famous baths. Kids get one of the oldest zoos in the world, Budapest Zoo in City Park, slides built into the side of Gellért Hill at the Gellert Hill Slide Park, and the summer pools of Palatinus Strand on Margaret Island.
Most of these hotels are in Pest, the flat side, in the center and the old Jewish Quarter, where the apartment hotels have kitchens. Two spa hotels are on Margaret Island and facing it in Óbuda, and Aquaworld is out in Újpest, on the northern edge of the city.
