The best family hotels in Florence
Written October 2026

Florence with kids is a dome to climb at the Duomo, Michelangelo's David to look up at and gelato after both.
With kids the museums are short visits broken up by gelato, so a hotel you can get back to for a nap beats a nicer one across the river. You won't want a car (the center is closed to them anyway), and the whole list is sorted by how a family sleeps: a door between the rooms, a suite with a bedroom, an apartment with a stove, or real single beds instead of a sofa.
Connecting rooms
A door between two rooms, so the kids are asleep at eight and you aren't sitting in the dark.
Hotel Roma
Piazza di Santa Maria Novella
On the square by the station, the right end of town for arriving by train with luggage and kids, and the square itself has room to run. The double and the twin that connect are soundproofed and come with two bathrooms.
