Where to stay in Mallorca with kids without a car
Written October 2026
Mallorca is shallow turquoise bays, ensaimadas for breakfast and mountain villages tucked behind the coast. It's also an easy island to do without a car.
In Port de Sóller, Port d'Alcúdia and Playa de Muro you can stay where the beach and dinner are a walk from the hotel, there's a pool on site, and the tram and the island buses cover the rest.
Port de Sóller

Hotel Esplendido
Es Traves, on the waterfront
Hotel Esplendido sits right on the bay, with the sand and the port's cafés just outside (it's a really pretty spot). The bay is a sheltered horseshoe, so the water is usually calm for small swimmers.
The old wooden tram runs along the waterfront and up to Sóller town, and Port de Sóller Beach is a few minutes' walk along the promenade.

Port d'Alcúdia
VIVA Sunrise
Avinguda de Mèxic
VIVA Sunrise built its shallow kids' pool around a pirate ship with slides, and there's a miniclub and a circus program for over-fours.
Port d’Alcúdia Beach is about ten minutes' walk, and Hidropark water park is about the same the other way. In the two-bedroom apartment, the kids get a door of their own.

Playa de Muro
Iberostar Waves Alcudia Park
Av. de s'Albufera
Iberostar Waves Alcudia Park is right on the sand, with Aquafun water play, a heated indoor pool and Star Camp kids clubs for 4 to 7 and 8 to 12. Playa de Muro is a long strip of beach hotels with wetlands behind it (no village).
The S’Albufera nature reserve behind the hotel is a flat, easy walk with birds to spot, and meals are at the hotel or the beach bars along Playa de Muro.
