Family hotels near the London Eye and the South Bank
Written October 2026
The South Bank, to a kid, is the London Eye, the path along the river and Jubilee Gardens, where the playground under the wheel has a ship to climb and a double slide. Across Waterloo Bridge is Covent Garden and the London Transport Museum, where under-fives get to drive little trains and boats.
Two of these hotels are under the wheel, one of them inside County Hall. The others are a walk along the river in Southwark, Covent Garden and Vauxhall, and each one sleeps four: a studio with a sofa bed, two rooms joined by a door, or a two-bedroom suite. For the whole city, see the best family hotels in London.
Under the wheel: County Hall and Westminster Bridge Road
Both are a few minutes from the London Eye and the Jubilee Gardens playground, with Waterloo station behind them.

Westminster Bridge Road
The studios are about 36 square meters, with a sofa bed for two adults and two kids, a microwave and a small fridge, and the one- and two-bedroom suites add a kitchenette and a bedroom with a door. There's a 15-meter heated indoor pool, kids get a goody bag at check-in with a coloring book and pencils, and under-12s eat breakfast free with their parents.
The hotel puts the London Eye and Big Ben within a short walk, and the Jubilee Gardens Playground is about 0.3 km away, fenced, with the ship to climb.
