Family hotels near Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile
Written October 2026
Navy Pier, to a kid, is the Ferris wheel, the carousel and the Chicago Children's Museum at the front of the pier, with a fountain at the entrance that turns into a splash pad on warm days. The Magnificent Mile starts a few blocks west, with American Girl Place, the observation deck at 360 Chicago and the deep-dish places, and Millennium Park, with the Bean and the Crown Fountain, is at the south end of it.
The hotels here are in Streeterville, the blocks between the pier and Michigan Avenue, on the Avenue itself, and down by the river, where Millennium Park is the nearer park. For the whole city, see the best family hotels in Chicago, and for the days themselves, things to do with kids near Navy Pier.
