Kid-friendly places in Solana Beach

A shaded play structure with swings at the top of the ramp, and the beach right at the bottom of it.

A renovated tot lot with open grass beside it.

A real narrow slot canyon, then a climb to a lagoon overlook. Best with older kids (it's a squeeze).

Books to browse and a toddler storytime. A calm hour when the day needs one.

At low tide the reef opens up and kids can look for sea creatures in the pools.

Pancakes, including multigrain and gluten-free ones, so the kid with the allergy gets a stack too.

Southern California pizzas to share, like pineapple and Canadian bacon, and old-school arcade games in the back.

An interactive floor-tile game where kids step on blue tiles to clear levels, dodge the red ones and regroup on safe green tiles.
