Quebec City has crêpes inside a walled old town and Bonhomme, the snowman mascot of the Winter Carnival. In winter there's a toboggan slide on the boardwalk.
Inside the walls the hotels sit near the Château, the boardwalk above the river and the funicular down to the Lower Town.
Just outside the walls, the hotels around Parliament Hill and the Grande Allée are bigger and have the pools. Sainte-Foy, out by the bridges, is a suburban option for a family with a car.
