Best Western Plus Inner Harbour
Inner Harbour
Best Western Plus Inner Harbour is the practical one: a free breakfast buffet, suites with a kitchenette and a small fridge, and penthouses with full kitchens. The one-bedroom penthouse sleeps up to five and the two-bedroom up to seven.
The heated pool is outdoors and seasonal, and the hotel keeps an indoor jacuzzi and a sauna year round. Some rooms take a rollaway bed.

Huntingdon Manor
Inner Harbour
Huntingdon Manor is an older hotel with lofts and suites, many of them with a full kitchen, and the Grand Dorset Suite has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's in the Inner Harbour, steps from the Parliament Buildings.
Several of the lofts have an upper level up a flight of stairs, so toddlers get a staircase thrown in.

Inn at Laurel Point
Inner Harbour
Inn at Laurel Point has interconnecting rooms, cribs, suites, an indoor pool and a family package with scavenger hunts and board games. Playpens, step stools, potties, baby baths and an in-room play tent are all on the gear list.
It sits on a six-acre peninsula that juts into the harbour, so there are lawns and gardens to run around. The restaurant and in-room dining both do kids' menus.

Fairmont Empress
Inner Harbour
Fairmont Empress is the grand old harbour hotel, and it has connected rooms, suites, cribs and highchairs. The indoor pool comes with a separate children's wading pool.
There's a Young Royals afternoon tea for kids, and the concierge arranges babysitting with 48 hours' notice.

Coast Victoria Hotel and Marina
Outer Harbour
Coast Victoria Hotel and Marina puts a mini fridge and a microwave in the room, and its indoor and outdoor pool overlooks the harbour. It's on the Outer Harbour, with a free shuttle on request to James Bay and downtown.
The marina is right there, and so is Fisherman's Wharf.

Douglas Street
Hotel Zed has a pool, a hot tub, a sauna and the Zedinator waterslide, all open year round, so the pool is the point. The Zed 2 Bed rooms are the obvious family pick, and there's a lounge called Grandma's Basement where kids play.
Kids' and tandem bikes are free to borrow, and dogs and cats are welcome too, so it's a lively place.

Oak Bay Beach Hotel
Oak Bay
Oak Bay Beach Hotel is oceanfront, with boutique suites that have a kitchenette and one-bedroom suites with a separate bedroom and a kitchen. Some side-by-side rooms with a shared entry may be available for bigger groups.
The kids' oceanside scavenger hunt is the main kid thing here. The mineral pools, spa and sauna are for guests 16 and over.
